Tokenized stock buyers report 135% net inflows for xStocks in one month
Despite market volatility, enthusiasm for tokenization appears robust, as demonstrated by sustained investor interest in xStocks.
According to data compiled by Token Terminal, the total value of on-chain Assets Under Management (AUM) for xStocks increased to $1.03 billion, representing a 19.1% rise within a single month.
This growth occurred even while falling prices eroded approximately $52 million from the total value; however, this loss was offset by substantial new capital entering the market, totaling $209 million. This inflow pattern indicates that for every dollar in value that decreased due to price declines, four dollars were being invested. This trend was widespread across the sector, as eighteen of the top twenty-five xStocks experienced price drops but still attracted more capital than they lost. Notably, Gold ETF GLDx was the sole exception where capital outflow occurred.
For instance, SOXLx, which represents a 3x leveraged chip ETF, saw its price decline by 40%, yet it recorded net inflows amounting to nearly 135%. Overall, the xStocks market seems to be performing well; its tokenized securities are currently valued at $1 billion on-chain, a significant increase from roughly one-ninth of that figure just one year prior, which translates to an 802.5% expansion.
In terms of individual holdings, SRTCx, representing preferred stock, held the largest position at $144.7 million at the time of this report, closely followed by MSTRx with a valuation of $124.4 million. When these two tokens are combined, their combined strategy accounts for $269.1 million. Furthermore, these tokens are not merely being held static; over $300 million in tokenized stocks across all issuers have been transferred into Decentralized Finance (DeFi), a figure that marks an approximate 2,451% increase over the preceding year. At the time of writing, xStocks held the largest share at $118.3 million, with Robinhood following at $70.8 million, and Binance's bStocks registered at $38.4 million.
This continued activity comes as the U.S SEC previously indicated that tokenization is among its prioritized areas for examination during the 2027 fiscal year. This focus does not imply the introduction of new regulations or outright prohibitions, but rather suggests that entities providing these financial instruments should anticipate increased scrutiny.
The sustained capital inflows into tokenized assets, even amid price depreciation, suggest a strong institutional and retail conviction in the underlying technology and asset class. The increased movement of these assets into DeFi further indicates that market participants are integrating tokenized securities into broader, more complex financial protocols.
Why it matters
This sustained investor interest, even amid price volatility, signals strong adoption of tokenized assets. Regulators are closely watching this sector, as the SEC has named tokenization an examination priority for fiscal year 2027.
